A Women's Health Workshop: A "Roundtable" Discussion

One of the questions I get asked the most is "how do you stay in great shape, what do you do to look, move, function so well".  The truth is....I struggle just like everyone else. However.....I'm a very curious person and lately my favorite topic has been my physical well being.  A few years ago as I was approaching 50, I started digging into what my body needed to continue to be able to function in a way that served me best. Needless to say....this lead me down a rabbit hole of learning the intricacies of what our amazing bodies are capable of when we give them what they need.  Some topics we'll cover:

  1. Nutrition and Healthy Eating:

    • Importance of a balanced diet for women's health

    • Supplements to add to a balanced diet

    • 4 simple nutrients to track to help you feel your best

    • Addressing common nutritional concerns specific to women (e.g., iron, magnesium, vitamin D)

  2. Exercise and Fitness:

    • Benefits of regular physical activity for women's health

    • Different types of exercises suitable for various fitness levels and interests

    • Tips for fitting exercise into a busy schedule

    • Discussion on the impact of exercise on mood, weight management, and overall well-being

  3. Managing Stress and Mental Health:

    • Understanding the impact of stress on women's health

    • Stress management techniques, such as mindfulness, meditation, and relaxation exercises

    • Importance of self-care and setting boundaries

    • Strategies for maintaining positive mental health

  4. Reproductive Health and Hormone Balance:

    • Discussion on the menstrual cycle, hormonal changes, and common concerns

    • Strategies for managing premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms

    • Menopause and perimenopause: symptoms, coping strategies, and treatment options

  5. Preventive Health and Screening:

    • Importance of regular health check-ups and screenings

    • Addressing common women's health concerns, such as osteoporosis and heart disease

    • The impact of menopause on long term health

    • Questions to ask your Doctor

  6. Open Discussions and Q&A Sessions:

    • When we share our experience, we learn from each other. Bring your questions as well as your knowledge. We will have open discussion in a space to learn from one another and lean towards healthier living.

I look forward to you joining me.  This has become a topic that I'm incredibly passionate about. I don't have all the answers. I do not provide medical advice. But I do know what works for me and I've tried a ton of things. Come....jump down the rabbit hole of women's health and let's thrive together.
